How Our Services Work

Our aims is to provide clear pathways and avoid unnecessary services and stress by ensuring families know what to expect at age stage. Families usually start in one of three ways, depending on their needs and level of certainty.

If you’re uncertain about whether your child would benefit from formal assessment, what type of assessment is needed, or whether direct support and therapy is the most immediate need, the usual starting point in an initial consultation

This is a parent-only appointment that:

Focuses on understanding your child’s strengths, your family’s needs, and what you hope to accomplish with our support
May include the opportunity to complete some screening measures to help guide decisions about the need for full assessment

Outcome: You’ll receive clear guidance on recommended next steps. This might include assessment, individual therapy, or group support. In some cases, the initial consultation provides sufficient information for the clinician to offer written recommendations. Next steps will always be discussed and agreed between the family and clinician.

Some families come to us following a recommendation from a school or another professional, or because they are already familiar with neurodivergence within their family. In these cases, families may prefer to book an assessment directly.

Different questions require different assessment. Depending on the assessment, this process typically includes:

A review of all relevant background information, including information from school
Some form of direct assessment and observation (1-3 visits, depending on the assessment)
In some instances, a school observation might be advised (additional costs incurred)
A post-assessment consultation to review what we’ve learned and discuss recommendations
A comprehensive written report with guidance for home and school

Outcome: No matter the outcome, you’ll gain meaningful insight into your child’s unique strengths and receive clear, actionable recommendations to help them thrive.

We provide a broad range of therapeutic and intervention supports for children from 18 months through to 18 years. Depending on the needs, these services help build academic, adaptive, and daily living skills, support children in navigating everyday challenges, and promote strong emotional and behavioural regulation. Therapy and intervention services are typically offered in time-limited blocks, most commonly in blocks of 8 sessions.

It is essential that we have an understanding of your child’s strengths, vulnerabilities, and your family’s priorities before starting therapy. If you are seeking therapy or intervention for your child without prior assessment or involvement with one of our clinician’s we recommend beginning with an initial consultation. This allows us to:

Establish a direction and clear goals from the beginning
Support you to feel confident that the clinician is the right fit for your child
